What the payment statuses mean
Every payment shows a status. They are not all what they sound like.
1
Pending means the payment has started but the money has not arrived yet.
Bank payments can sit here for a few days. That is normal and does not mean anything is wrong.
2
Completed means the money actually arrived. This is the only status that means you have been paid.
3
Failed means it did not go through. The usual causes are an expired card or not enough money in the account.
4
Reversed means money that had arrived was taken back, by the bank or by a dispute.
Treat Reversed as unpaid. It is not the same as Failed, because the payment did succeed at first.
That’s it. If you are checking whether someone has paid, look for Completed.
